Late Bloomer Wealth

Feedback on the Prior Financial Planning Workshops Offered by Los Angeles USD/United Teachers LA

About 80 LAUSD employees attended last Saturday’s pre retirement planning financial workshops. It was a marvelous experience for Dan and I. All of the presenters possessed the same financial philosophy; look out for the best interests of the educators with low-cost funds. To be sure, most TSA sales person makes similar claims, but the difference is that all of our presenters had no conflicts of interest–NONE–and no TSA products will ever be discussed at these investment seminars! We talk about real investments into low-cost custodial accounts with mutual funds.

The proceeds of 25 paperback copies of our book that were sold were donated to LAUSD’s Hispanic Scholarship Fund–$75.00. When I was teaching, I personally donated a part of my salary to this wonderful Scholarship Fund.

Here are two comments that were emailed to Sandy, the coordinator, and to us about last Saturday’s financial planning workshops.

Sandy, Thanks again Sandy for the awesome seminar. I plan to make a presentation to my fellow PSA counselors on retirement planning and was wondering if you have any PowerPoint slides I can use or some resources already in some presentation format. This information is too good to keep for myself. Also, when and what time does the retirement board meet? Appreciate any help you can give me. Do you think Mr. Schullo would be available to talk at our Staff Meeting?

Steve and Dan, I had the pleasure of attending your advanced session at yesterday’s Pre-Retirement Issues Investment Workshop. Yesterday was the first time I saw you guys in person, but I have followed your online comments for many years, and I remember reading your financial make-over in the L.A. Times in the 1990s. Many thanks for your public service in educating teachers about investment. I have a great deal of respect for your candor, and I have found the information you provide extremely helpful. Sincerely, Vicky LAUSD
